There Are Things You Can Live Without

Anything you need, must have or can't do without has domination over you and your life. In other words, you are a slave of sorts. We're not talking here about food, clothing and shelter. We are talking about anything or anyone, from your mother to your job, that you feel you must have, must help or cannot walk away from for one reason or another. We are talking about the gamut from food to sex, people to pets, shoes to butter on both sides of your bread. If God didn't put it in you, but you believe you cannot live without it, you are in a lot of trouble!

All too often, we turn our lives over to things and people, believing that they are essential to our survival. How does this happen? How do we become enslaved? Why does this happen? Why do we turn our lives and our power over to things and people? Well, it's a trick! It is the trick of fear!

Fear will do anything, use anyone, to throw you off track, keep you off base and move you in the wrong direction. Fear is very well aware that as long as you believe there is something you cannot do without, you have an excuse not to do the things you must! Fear also knows that as long as you have an excuse for not doing, fear has something to do! Fear will keep you running. Fear will keep you hiding. Fear will tie you down. It will make you responsible to others! It will make you responsible for others! Fear is the very thing that prevents you from letting go of everything and everyone else.

If you really want to live your life to the fullest and realize your greatest potential, you must be willing to run the risk of making some people mad. Oh, they will get mad! Whenever you move beyond someone's opinion of you, they get upset because you thought more of yourself than they thought of you.

If you want to know just how much you can do, how far you can reach, how much you can stretch, you must be willing to leave some people behind. You must be willing to do more, be more and have more than those in your present company have. This does not mean you should compare yourself to them. Nor does it mean you are showing off. It means that you must be willing to step out on your own, try life for yourself and claim your divine inheritance without guilt.

If you really want to know who you are and what you are capable of achieving, you must be willing to live without the opinions of other people. That means you don't ask for opinions! And when they are offered, you need not accept them. In order to find your identity, your authenticity and a true sense of wholeness, you must develop your individuality from the wealth of information that comes from within you.

People may not like what you do, people may not like how you do it, but those people are not living your life. You are! Until you are willing to live beyond the opinions of other people, and without the company of other people, you will have no idea of what your life is all about.

Until today, you may have been holding on to other people's opinions about you and doing your best to keep people with you and on your side. Just for today, take a risk! Tell somebody what you really want for your life. Tell someone you do not agree with their opinion of you. Then jump into the center of your own life and get comfortable being there!
